Deputy Commissioner, Chumoukedima calls for collective action on waste management and sustainability

Polan John, NCS, Deputy Commissioner, Chumukedima in his address to the Departments on 30th of October 2024 at the D.C conference hall Chumukedima, said that the need for improved waste management, compound maintenance, water sanitation and proper electricity should be maintained. He also emphasised that environmental concerns require immediate action and therefore urged all departments to collectively contribute funds. The goal is to establish a sustainable management system, including hiring dedicated personnel to oversee waste disposal and cleaning of the D.C compound.

He highlighted the need to efficiently manage the usage of electricity, and also address the present setup of power sharing with the nearby Passport Office and that the departments should resolve these issues to ensure a healthier and more sustainable work environment for all Departments.
