In view of the formulation of the traffic diversion plan in relation to Rehabilitation works over ROB (Road Over Bridge) near Hotel Tragopan, Dimapur on NH 29 and in compliance with Government of Nagaland (Works and Housing Department), the Dimapur Commissioner of Police has issued a traffic advisory on the following route diversions. The advisory noted that restrictions shall be enforced and the ROB (Old Over Bridge near Hotel Tragopan) will be completely cut off from both sides for any and all vehicular movements till the completion of the rehabilitation works.
HEAVY VEHICLES
- Heavy/transport vehicles entering Dimapur from Dillai Gate and New Field Gate and intending to proceed to Chumoukedima and Kohima and vice-versa shall take the Khatkati CRPF Group Centre Charali Dimapur Bypass 4- Lane Highway till Chümoukedima.
- Heavy/ transport vehicles intending to deliver cargo at Western side of Dimapur (Golaghat Road, Blue Hill Area, GS Road, MP Road, Kalibari Road, Khermahal, City Tower, Ao Tajen Road) shall enter Dimapur through Dillai Gate and Newfield Gate.
- Heavy/ transport vehicles intending to deliver cargo at Eastern side of Dimapur (Nagarjan, Supermarket, Burma Camp, Purana Bazar, Naharbari, Padumpukhri) and onward route towards Chumoukedima shall take the Khatkati CRPF Group Centre Charali Dimapur Bypass 4-lane Highway via Kaliram and Kushiabill Villages.
- There shall be total restriction of movement of heavy commercial vehicles within DMC jurisdiction from 07:00 A.M to 07:00 P.M.
- Total restriction on movement of all heavy vehicles including Police, Army, Para military vehicles on Fly Over shall be imposed. However, movement of medium-sized school buses shall be allowed.

LIGHT/MEDIUM VEHICLES
- Light Medium vehicles coming into Western side of Dimapur from Chümoukedima/Kohima side and vice- versa are advised to take the Thahekhu route via Nagaland Zoological Park.
- Light/ Medium. Vehicles proceeding to Assam may take the route of Kushiabill or Veterinary Burma Camp road via Khatkhati Check Gate.
- For other categories of vehicles (other than heavy/transport vehicles), all routes (except ROB) shall remain open at all times, with the following restrictions:
- The route from ’eluxe Point till Holy Cross Police Point shall be a One Way traffic. The Parking regulation on the Right Hand Side of the Road (Christian Hr. Sec. School Side) shall strictly be a Two-wheeler Parking Zone only.
- Vehicles coming from City Tower towards Holy Cross Police Point shall proceed straight towards Dhobinallah. Likewise, vehicles coming from Dhobinallah towards Holy Cross Police point shall proceed straight towards City Tower.
- The route from Khermahal to Deluxe Point shall be a One-Way traffic.
- The route from Army Supply Police point i.e., GS Road to Durga Mandir shall be Two-Way traffic.
- The Kalibari Road from Jain Temple Gate to Durga Mandir Junction shall be a One-Way Traffic. F. The route from Public College of Arts and Commerce / Fire Station to Tourist Lodge Police Point shall be a One- Way traffic.
- Entry of commercial vehicles of any type (Auto rickshaws, Auto Pick-ups, Tata Mobiles) shall be strictly restricted at the following locations from 09:00 A.M to 07:00 P.M.
- Tourist Point Flyover.
- Eros Lane Junction.
- Durga Mandir – Deluxe Point (MP Road)
- Dhobinallah to City Tower and vice-versa.
The Order shall come into effect from 06:00 A.M. of October 1. The advisory, however, mentioned that traffic regulations may be subjected to changes as per the traffic convenience and feasibility.
“For the convenience of all, commuters are requested to co-operate and follow the above rules and regulations to ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of traffic,” stated Kevithuto Sophie, IPS, Commissioner of Police Dimapur.
