A preparatory meeting for the forthcoming 80th Independence Day celebrations was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur on July 27 under the chairmanship of Wiridin, NCS, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Dimapur.

The meeting reviewed the proposed programme for the Independence Day celebration to be held on August 15, 2026, and discussed the distribution of responsibilities among various government departments and agencies to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event.

During the meeting, responsibilities for different ceremonial and logistical arrangements were assigned to the concerned departments. Coordination among administrative officers, line departments and other stakeholders was also emphasized to facilitate effective planning and execution of the celebrations.

SDO (Civil), Dimapur, Wiridin urged all departments to carry out their assigned responsibilities efficiently and maintain close coordination to ensure that the 80th Independence Day celebrations are conducted in a befitting manner.
