A 10 Day Screen Acting training organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in collaboration with Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) commenced on Monday at the DIPR Conference Hall in Kohima.
DIPR informed that during the inaugural program, Dzüvinuo Theünuo, Director, IPR, expressed her hope that the participants will gain valuable knowledge and experiences from the training. She extended her appreciation to the resource person, Anita Salim, and FTII for their continuous support. The collaboration between DIPR and FTII is expected to foster significant growth in the field of film and television in Nagaland.
Anita Salim, the resource person, emphasized the importance of cinema as a universal language and an art form that facilitates global communication. Salim highlighted the transformative power of cinema and encouraged participants to utilize their resources effectively, leaving behind a lasting legacy. She also lauded the enthusiasm of the students and their willingness to work and share their experiences.
Salim, an FTII alumna, has a rich background in performing arts and has been conducting workshops for students, amateurs, and professionals since 1984. She is a co-founder of The Phoenix Players, where she serves as an actor, mentor, and producer.
This screen acting training program is specifically designed for participants from Scheduled Tribes residing in Nagaland. The program will run until 8th November 2023.
