Director General ATI interacts with Nagaland Civil Service (Probationers)

Director General, ATI, V Shashank Shekhar had an interactive session with the Nagaland Civil Service (Probationers) 2024 Batch at the Administrative Training Institute on August 30.

The 16 NCS (Probationers) 2024 Batch have been undergoing the one year Nagaland Civil Service Probationers Foundation Course at ATI since November 2024. They have recently concluded Phase II of the District Training and are due to depart for three Institutes in the country, viz. Institute of Management in Government, Kerala; Netaji Subhas Administrative Training Institute, West Bengal; and State Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (SIPARD), Tripura, for Bharat Darshan as part of their study tour.

The Director General, in his interaction with the Probationers, appreciated their good academic background and asked them to share their experiences based on their recent District Training. He suggested that while discussing the issues, the focus should be kept on solutions.

Some of the discussions included strengthening employment opportunities for the youths in the state, strengthening the coordination between line departments and district administration for efficient implementation of various schemes and overall governance of districts.

The probationers also highlighted the need for increased use of new-age technologies in governance, strengthening the power and water infrastructure in the remote areas of the state to benefit the common people.

The Director General, while citing his experiences, highlighted the important role of district administration in various facets of governance such as maintenance of law and order, developmental activities, land-related matters, disaster management, conduct of elections, revisions of electoral rolls, etc.

Also present in the interaction were Imlibenla Jamir, Deputy Director, Peter Konyak, Lecturer, and Dr. A Alem W Longchar, Assistant Director.
