District Development Coordination Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for Niuland district was held on July 1 at DC Conference Hall Niuland.

MP Lok Sabha and Chairperson of DISHA committee, Supongnerrn Jamir, while addressing the meeting stated that the purpose of the DISHA meeting is to assess the achievements and challenges of the departments in implementing various schemes and projects in the district. He urged the members to come forward with any problems without any hesitation.

During the review meeting, department of Agriculture, Water Resource, Veterinary and Labour department delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation.

The Department of Agriculture delivered an insightful presentation on the department’s activities in the district during which Jamir, came up with the idea of setting up Cool Storage in the district for Agri products activities. After thorough deliberation, Jamir indorsed the matter to the district administration to come up with clear roadmaps for setting up the cool storage in the district.

The MP also held extensive deliberation with the officials from Water Resources, Agriculture, Veterinary and Labour department.

During the discussion, status and prospects of the Diary products in the district were deliberated on which Jamir said, Diary products have huge potential market and urged concern officer to re-examine the Diary farming in the district.

In regards to the network/communication problem in the district, Jamir assured that he will pursue the matter with the concern department.
