The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Peren District was held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Peren, on July 3.
Addressing the meeting, Member of Parliament Lok Sabha & DISHA Chairperson for Nagaland, S Supongmeren Jamir said that the objective of the DISHA meeting was to review the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and developmental activities in the district. He stressed the importance of assessing the achievements made since the previous meeting, identifying challenges encountered during implementation, and collectively finding solutions to improve the delivery of government programmes.
He stated that the meeting provided a platform for officials and members to openly discuss issues without bias, as the intention was not to criticise any department but to ensure the effective and judicious implementation of development projects. He also pointed out that communication gaps and delays in sanctioning projects at the Central level often affected timely implementation in the State. He informed that issues and recommendations raised during the meeting would be incorporated in the minutes and forwarded to the concerned Ministries.
