District Census Handbook training held at Meluri

Training on the District Census Handbook (DCHB) 2027 was conducted at DB’s Court, DC Office, Meluri, on September 18 for the concerned charge officers, field functionaries, Charge Clerks and technical Assistants.

EAC Meluri, Zuchibemo Ezung, NCS, welcomed all the participants and wished them a successful and fruitful training. He urged the trainees and field functionaries to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication and a sense of commitment.

Acknowledging that being a newly created district may present certain challenges during the fieldwork, he encouraged the participants to view the assignment as an opportunity to serve the people and contribute to the development of the district. He called upon them to remain committed, responsible and sincere in carrying out their assigned duties.

Assistant Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Nagaland, Vizoyol Chaya, during his presentation focused on the procedures and guidelines for the collection, compilation and documentation of census-related data required for the preparation of the DCHB 2027.

A PowerPoint was presented on the District Census Handbook (DCHB) for Census 2027, covering the Village Directory, Town Directory and Primary Census Abstract (PCA), along with demographic, socio-economic and household information. The trainees were also briefed on village and town-level amenities, including education, health, drinking water, sanitation, electricity, communication, transport, banking and other infrastructure facilities, as well as the collection, verification and compilation of data for the DCHB

The trainees actively participated in the session and raised queries and doubts, which were clarified by the resource person. The training aimed to ensure accurate and systematic collection and compilation of census-related information for the preparation of the DCHB 2027.
