The District Red Run 2026 was successfully organized in Longleng District under the aegis of the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), as part of the state wide campaign to promote awareness on HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) on August 3.
Prior to the commencement of the run, District AIDS Control Officer (DACO) Longleng, Dr. Temsusashi, addressed the participants and delivered an awareness talk on HIV/AIDS and STIs. He emphasized the importance of prevention, early testing, eliminating stigma and discrimination, and encouraged young people to adopt safe and responsible health practices. He also highlighted that every individual’s effort contributes towards building an HIV-free society.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from eligible young men and women aged 17–25 years, reflecting the commitment of the youth towards spreading awareness and promoting healthy lifestyles. The District Red Run carried the theme, “Every Step Counts Against HIV and STIs,” reinforcing the message that collective action can make a significant difference in the fight against HIV.
The winners of the District Red Run Male Category were: Katlong Phom, A. Phekmei Phom and N. Tenkom Phom, were placed in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position respectively. While in Female Category: C. Lingoi, Wanyong D. Phom and Oyau Phom bagged 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placed respectively.
