The Mon District Legal Services Authority and Longleng DLSA conducted legal awareness programs in their respective regions, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) informed in a press release on Tuesday.
Mon DLSA organized a legal awareness program in collaboration with the Medical Department, Mon in line with the Continuing Medical Education (CME) of doctors.

Dr. Rongsennungla, the District Programme Officer for Non-Communicable Diseases DPO (NCD), presided over the event. During the program, B. Peter Resu, Secretary of DLSA Mon and JMFC, facilitated a discussion on medico-legal procedures and improving healthcare for convicts and under-trial prisoners (UTPs) in the District Jail. Dr Vezokholu Theyo, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), led a discussion on Medical Ethics and the Nagaland Medical Council Act, 2014.
The programme was participated by 13 doctors and Retainer Lawyer Topha Konyak from DLSA Mon.
Longleng District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organised awareness with Dobashi/GB on Priority Schemes including schemes under Social Welfare department, Health and Family Welfare, Right to Education Act and National Food Security Act at Customary Court (GBs).
Retainer Lawyer A Mane Phom spoke on the Victim Compensation Act 2012 and Lok Adalat. Kumdilong Kessen (NJS) Secretary and CJM Longleng apprised on the Village Council Act and the Rules for the Administration of Justice. Panel Lawyer P Monyei Phom highlighted on the Schemes available under Social Welfare Department. After which the team had discussion hour with the GBs/Dobashis.
Altogether 18 persons participated in the said awareness program in Longleng.
