The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has condemned the sexual assault of a minor girl in Dimapur. Stating that the barbaric act is a grave violation of human dignity and a serious threat to the safety of society, the Union said such crimes are absolutely intolerable and must be dealt with the harshest legal action.

Expressing solidarity with the victim and her family, the Union demanded immediate justice. The severe physical, emotional, and psychological trauma inflicted upon the minor cannot be ignored, and the accused must be held fully accountable without delay, it added.

Learning that the accused has been granted anticipatory bail, the Union strongly condemned and demanded that the anticipatory bail be immediately cancelled or revoked.

“Allowing the accused to remain free in such a serious case undermines justice and obstructs a fair investigation,” it said and demanded that law enforcement authorities act swiftly to ensure the immediate arrest of the accused and initiate strict legal proceedings.

Any delay,  negligence, or leniency would not be tolerated, it said.

DNSU further warned that failure to deliver timely justice would compel the Union to take necessary democratic steps.
