The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of September was held on September 18 at DPDB Hall, Longleng, under the chairperson of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Longleng, W Manpai Phom, NCS. The meeting commenced with an introduction of new board members.
The Department of Medical briefed the house on TB Mukh Bharat Abhiyan, where the Department urged the board members and well-wishers to support the TB patient through financial assistance.
During the meeting, the Chairman briefed the house on the major development project in the district, the Light House project at Government Higher Secondary School Longleng and on-going construction of District Hospital Longleng.
After the review of the previous meeting minutes, agendas discussed in the meeting was establishment of a blood storage unit and blood bank at District Hospital Longleng, a proposal from the medical department, where the MS, briefly highlighted the requirement. The house approved the proposal to be forwarded to the higher authority.
The house also discussed the proposed external electrification and installation of a new 100kV distribution transformer for the new District Hospital Longleng building.

The house also discussed organising the departmental sports meet in the month of October.
The chairman entrusted the DPO Social Welfare department to collect the data on how many Anganwadi centres are functioning in private buildings and Government buildings.
The Department of Education (DEO/SDEO) Longleng presented the departmental activities through a power point presentation. The ADC requested the School Education department to submit the reason for the 10 numbers of schools being blacklisted.
The Police department was entrusted for the presentation in the next DPDB meeting.
NOKLAK:
The Noklak District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on September 15 at SP Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by DC and Vice Chairman DPDB, P Mono Khiamniungan. The Chairman welcomed all the members present followed by the review of the last meeting minutes.
Proposal for upgradation of Union Mission Pathso submitted by AEO Noklak, UMS Pathso from Class 8 to Class 9 was deliberated and the housed decided to recommended the matter to the department, considering the fulfilment of all the criteria and verification report submitted by the concerned department.
A Powerpoint presentation was given by the Social Welfare department, where CDPO Noklak, CDPO Thonoknyu, District Mission Coordinator presented various activities and welfare programmes implemented under the department for the benefit of vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society. The presentation also highlighted the department’s initiatives relating to child welfare, women’s welfare, support for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, nutrition, social security and other assistance programmes.
The Department was encouraged to continue and strengthen its outreach activities, particularly in rural and remote areas to ensure that eligible persons are able to access and avail themselves of the welfare services and benefits available for them.
SDO Civil Noklak, Vikhoto Richa presenting on behalf of the Urban Development department highlighted the salient features of the SWM Rules 2026 roles and responsibilities of various departments. The members also deliberated on the current status of the implementation of the SWM Rules 2026 in the district.
The house entrusted the Forest Department for a PowerPoint presentation in the next DPDB meeting.
The members of the DPDB Noklak also attended the Video Conference with the Planning & Transformation department as part of sensitisation on Reform Utsav 2026.
