The Book and Musical Instrument Drive, which began on September 27, had set up collection points in cafes and stores across the city. Local businesses such as Juro Cafe, Baby Luna, and The Naga Bowl Bakery were among the 16 locations that participated in the drive. The organizers strategically placed donation boxes in these establishments, making it convenient for residents to contribute.
More than 500 books of various genres, including children’s literature, fiction, and reference books, were collected. Additionally, dozens of musical instruments such as guitars and keyboards were donated. The collected books will be used to establish a library at the Rintaniemi Neighbourhood Children Home, providing the young residents with access to a diverse range of reading materials. The donated musical instruments will be used to launch a free music program, allowing the children to explore their artistic abilities and find joy in music.
According to the Organizers, the Book and Musical Instrument Drive has not only strengthened the sense of community but has also given the children of Rintaniemi Neighbourhood Children Home a brighter future filled with the wonders of literature and music. “It serves as a shining example of what can be achieved when a community comes together to make a difference in the lives of those in need,” stated the Organisers.
