In a press release stated on 19th September 2023, the Mokokchung Police made a substantial drug seizure, leading to the arrest of two individuals on 18th September 2023. The incident unfolded during routine frisking and checking at Sewak Gate, Mokokchung, resulting in the discovery of approximately 1.19 grams of Brown Sugar in the possession of Morenba (20 years old) from Longjang Village residing in Sangtemla Ward, Mokokchung.

Upon further investigation, the police conducted a raid at the residence of Takayapang (33 years old) from Khensa Village residing in Yimyu Ward, Mokokchung and recovered approximately 10.35 grams of Brown Sugar from his home.

The press release stated that in this connection, a case has been officially registered at Mokokchung Police Station-II, and both accused individuals have been apprehended and charged according to the relevant sections of the law.
