Drugs peddlers busted at Sovima Village

Kohima: Volunteers of Sovima Youth Organisation today caught drugs peddlers red handed while they were in the process of selling “Sunflower” drugs to two customers

Volunteers of Sovima Youth Organisation today caught drugs peddlers red handed while they were in the process of selling “Sunflower” drugs to two customers. A press release issued by the SVC, Secretary Ruokuosile Rupreo informed.

The two agents, identified as Keduolhoulie Angami and Beizolie Angami, permanent residents of Sovima, while the main culprit manage to flee the scene. The customers have been identified as Chuba Phom and Chekhah Kano, and are presently residents of Medziphema town, SVC informed.

“A Khaini/tobacco container filled with Sunflower drugs and another container filled with items used for inhaling the drugs, a syringe, Rupees Five hundred and two smart phones were recovered from their possession”, SVC informed

The release also said, three other addicts of “OSD” were apprehended from the site and they have been identified as Threiwang Awang Konyak, Wenkheng Jolyn Konyak and Yonem Konyak currently residing in Sovima village as tenants.

It further said, during recording of their statements, it was found that the main supplier, who was present at the spot, managed to escape during the melee.

“He is reported to regularly visit his sister, a tenant of Sovima, and sell the drugs to customers. His details have been provided to the police”.

The apprehended individuals and seized items have been handed over to Chumoukedima Police Station this afternoon.

SVC hoped that the main suppliers shall be nabbed very soon and the village will be rid of drugs peddling in the near future.
