The Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS) has informed that in commemoration of the National Sports Day 2026, the cash award programme to meritorious Sports persons for the FY 2025-26 would be held at IG Stadium, Kohima on August 29 at 10 a.m.  Awards would be given to athletes who have won medals in recognized disciplines/tournaments affiliated to NOA in the International, National & Zonal/North East levels.

The Department appealed to all the concerned who have applied for the same to contact their respective State Sports Association to check their eligibility. Registration would begin at 8 a.m. and close at 9:30 a.m. at the venue. All the awardees have been requested to reach the registration venue, Hall A, at IG Stadium by 8 a.m.
