Eastern Nagaland total shutdown to continue

The Eastern Nagaland Public Emergency ‘total shutdown’ called by the Eastern Nagaland’s People Organization (ENPO) will continue until further notice, announced the ENPO.

The total shutdown in the Eastern Naga areas has been imposed against the delay to settle the Government of India’s offer for creation of Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) through the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In a statement issued on March 10, the ENPO announced that exemptions will be made for the following:

1. Power Department.

2. Media houses.

3. Medical Emergencies.

4. Fire & Emergency Services.

5. Wedding.

Tribal Bodies are to co-ordinate with all concerned respectively, informed the ENPO Control Room, Tuensang Hq.

Chang Khulei Setshang calls for total bandh in solidarity with ENPO

In conformity to the Eastern Nagaland Public Emergency and in continuation of its protest, the Chang Khulei Setshang has called for a total bandh with effect from 12:00 AM (midnight) on March 11 until further notice in the entire Chang area in the following

Manner:

1. There will be complete restriction on movement of public.

2. There will be complete restriction on movement of Private and Government Vehicles.

3. There will be Total shutdown of Government Offices, Government and Private institution, Both Government and Private Schools and Colleges, Business establishment etc.

However, the following will be exempted from the purview of the bandh:

1. Power Department

2. Medical Emergencies

3. Fire & Emergency Services

4. Media houses

5. Wedding
