The Eastern Nagaland Public Organization (ENPO) on Tuesday decided to continue the ‘Public Emergency’ in Eastern Nagaland but ‘considering the concerns of the people’ it announced the relaxation of the ‘Total Shutdown’ for the general public.
This was decided during the ENPO Emergency Consultative Meeting with Tribal Bodies and Frontal Organisations held at the CKS Hall, Tuensang, a press release from ENPO stated.
During the meeting, President of ENP, Tsapikiu Sangtam is said to have advised all the tribal leaders and members present to ensure that all the people irrespective of their political and social affiliations have to be onboard the agitation through which the Organization is attempting to put pressure on the Government of India to complete the process for the establishment of Frontier Nagaland Territory.
The meeting emphasized on the need to stand in unison in achieving the desired goal, which is of primary importance and pre-requisite at this hour, ENPO said. The members reaffirmed to further collaborate closely and co-ordinate efforts in ensuring successful implementations of the restrictions imposed under the ‘Public Emergency’ to show resentment against the Central Government for not honouring its commitment.
