The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has convened an Emergency 24th Federal Assembly on 12th March 2024 at 11:00 AM at ENSF Office, Tuensang HQ.
In a directive, ENSF Speaker Pho-e Konyak and Assembly Secretary L. Kiukhum have informed that the meeting will “discuss the matter pertaining to ENPO official endorsement to the Federation and its Federating Units to fully monitor the ongoing Public Emergency regarding Frontier Nagaland Territory Demand.”
The Speaker/Chairman, President, General Secretary, two executives each and ENSF Advisory Board of the seven federating units and Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students’ Union (ENSSU) are directed to attend the meeting without fail, the directive stated.
The seven federating units of the ENSF are – Chang Wedoshi Setshang, Konyak Students’ Union, Phom Students’ Conference, United Sangtam Students’ Conference, Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako, Tikhir Students’ Union and Khiamniungan Students’ Union.
The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has imposed a total shutdown in the Eastern Nagaland region to put pressure on the Government of India to hasten the settlement process of establishment of Frontier Nagaland Territory.
The total shut down in the six districts – Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Noklak and Shamator districts – will continue on 12th March, ENPO has said on Monday. However, the following are exempted:
- Students appearing board examinations
- Power Department
- Media houses
- Medical emergencies
- Fire and Emergency services
- Weddings
