A three-day Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) conducted by the Swavalamban Connect Kendra (SCK) in Noklak District commenced on 23th October 2024 at the White Hall, Noklak Village. The event which will go on till 25th October is an initiative of the Small Scale Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), implemented by the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in collaboration with EDUCENTRE.
During the inaugural program, the Centre’s Manager, Thumong BS Khiamniungan, highlighted that the training aims to empower youth with essential entrepreneurial skills and knowledge. The program focuses on skill development, fostering innovation, and providing resources to help participants explore business opportunities and create self-employment ventures, he added.
Resource persons Atsung Sangtam and Lhouvingutuo Kehie from EDUCENTRE led the training, which covered topics such as understanding entrepreneurship, developing strategies, and recognizing local needs and challenges in the district. The program highlighted unemployment as a significant issue and underscored the importance of expanding viable business opportunities.
Over 70 participants, including unemployed youth, business owners, students and citizens attended the event, showcasing a strong community interest in entrepreneurship.
