This morning around 2:30 am firing between Assam Rifles and NSCN-K Yung Aung group was reported in Nyasha village of Mon district.”

As per sources, two AR jawans were on duty at the Nyasha AR base camp when the firing took place. Apart from open firing at the camp, two grenades were also hurled.

Two AR Rifle jawans sustained injuries and one is said to be in critical condition. The jawans have been airlifted to Jorhat, as per sources.

After the incident a public protest was carried out at Nyasha village condemning the firing.

The public protest saw participation from residence and students carrying placards and banners condemning the firing and demanding for peace.
