FAC Mokokchung and Bhutan’s Sherubtse College begins Cultural Exchange Programme 2024

Mokokchung: Lecturer from Sherubtse college highlights on Bhutanese culture, enriched with unique customs, traditions, clothing, values

Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung in collaboration with Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan began the Cultural Exchange Programme 2024: Strengthening Bonds, Celebrating Diversity, which is being held from the 3rd to 5th of April 2024.

The Information and Publicity Cell, FAC Mokokchung, informed that the theme for the first day was “Cultural Odyssey: Discovering Diversity, Forging Friendships.” In the introductory session, the opening address was given by L. S. Vinod Kumar, Vice-Principal, Fazl Ali College where he welcomed the delegates from Sherubtse College, anticipating a fruitful interaction.

An overview of the programme was then given by Dr. E. Benrithung Patton, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, wherein he expressed the desire to begin lifelong learning and friendship between the institutions, with a holistic approach in discovering new horizons.

In an address by Kelzang Namgay, Lecturer, Department of Arts and Humanities, Coordinator to the Cultural Unit at Sherubtse College, a brief highlight was given about the Bhutanese culture, enriched with unique customs, traditions, clothing, values, and he also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to explore and learn in collaboration with Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.

There were cultural showcases: “Boedra: Traditional Bhutanese Dance” by Sherubtse College and a folk fusion song “Waro Rang” by Fazl Ali College Students’ Union. During a later session, T. Senka Ao, Padmashree Awardee, facilitated the “Cultural Workshop at Ketsangriju: An Indigenous Skills Training Centre”. The evening ended with a “Hostel Campfire Nite” hosted by FAC Hostel Committee.
