Fake letter on withdrawal of support: NPP clarifies

The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland State has expressed concern over a letter that has been going viral in social media since October 12 addressed to the Governor of Nagaland. The letter requested for withdrawal of (NPP) support from Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio led Government.

“It is pertinent to mention that the NPP Nagaland State functions under its Party Constitution. At no point of time the NPP had never authorised any individual or group for submission of such issues concerning our party. Therefore, the NPP Nagaland State condemns the ghost author of the letter,” stated a clarification issued by A.Nyamnyei Konyak, President, National People’s Party.

It also noted that the NPP was “quite satisfied and comfortably” working in the opposition less Government under the a leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

“The (NPP) Nagaland state vehemently condemns the person involved in creating and spreading this misleading propaganda in order to destroy the peaceful co-existence of the present day government and demands that the person involved in this regard seek a public apology in all domains,” it stated.
