Fashion Tech Dept of Govt Polytechnic Kohima holds Graduation Day

Kohima: Individual’s chances of survival in today’s competitive world increases with skills one possesses

The Government Polytechnic Kohima organized Students’ Graduation Day show of its Fashion Technology Department as a part of its Curriculum with the theme, ‘Allure-Simple Fashion millage’ on 22nd August 2024 with Sentiyanger Pongen, Additional Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, as the Special Guest.

In his address, Pongen congratulated all the graduating students and said that earning a skill will make one a strong person and the more skills one possesses, the individual’s chances of survival in today’s competitive world increases.

He advised the students to strive for the best to make dreams their come true stating, “We all have struggle in life but with greater determination we can overcome that obstacle standing in our way. There are times when we find situation very demanding but always believe in hard work and you will succeed.” He urged the students to dream big and mentioned that unless one has big dreams, it is difficult to achieve our goals in life.

Er. Keyiekhru Rhutso, Principal GPT, in his welcome address, highlighted that Government Polytechnic Kohima was established in the year 1992 and Fashion Technology Department was introduced in the year 2004. He said that during the Covid-19 pandemic when the world came to a standstill, the institution was able to produce one lakh surgical masks, hand gloves and bed sheets which were distributed free of cost to the frontline workers with generous contribution from well-wishers, faculty members and students.
