Fazl Ali College organises workshop on research paper writing

The Research and Development Cell (RDC) of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, organised a workshop on

“Writing a Research Paper – I” at the college Conference Hall on Saturday.

The workshop aimed to promote research and strengthen academic writing skills among faculty and students. Delivering the keynote address, Bendangsenla, Associate Professor and IQAC Coordinator,

emphasised the importance of teaching students research paper writing and encouraged faculty members to engage more actively in research and academic writing.

Vice Principal LS Vinod Kumar also highlighted the need for increased research and publication among faculty members.

The workshop sessions were conducted by five faculty members who spoke on different aspects of research writing. Dr E Benrithung Patton, Associate Professor , Department of Political Science, spoke on “Understanding Research and Scientific Research”; Dr P Tia Mollier, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, on “Role of Empiricism in Academic Research”; Dr Adangla Changkija, Associate Professor and HoD of Sociology, on “Literature Review: Concepts and Methods”; Dr J Limainla Ao, Assistant Professor of History, on “Preparing an Effective Abstract and Selecting Keywords”; and Dr Jnanendra Sarma, Assistant Professor of Geography, on “Writing a Research Report/Paper.”

The sessions were followed by a question-and-answer session. The programme concluded with remarks by Dr Temjennaro Jamir, Associate Professor of Education. Dr Imwapangla Imsong, Assistant Professor of English, served as the rapporteur.
