Five-day programme for demand driven skill development concludes in Dimapur

Closing programne for demand-driven skill development under the construction sector for Dimapur district was held at Town Hall on 3 September 2022

The week-long training saw the participants receive training on plumbing and electrical works along with certificates and complimentary working tools at the end of the skills training.

The training was jointly organized by the Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Zynorique Initiative Society. The latter, was started in 2002 by Architect Richard Belho and Associate Architect Kezhagwetuo (Ato) Peseyie, with its primary objective being the training and imparting of creative skills to the local Naga youth.

Kumar, Master Trainer from Zynorique Initiative Society thanked the trainers for their support and dedication He advised them not to misuse the tools, and encourage them to work hard even after they go to their respective places. 62 trainers from Dimapur turned up for the programme, besides trainers from other districts in Nagaland.

L.Samuel Konyak, SDO (Civil), Dimapur delivering words of encouragement to the trainers, hoped that this training will be of help to the trainers in their future. He encouraged them to work sincerely and said that success will automatically come to them if they work with honesty and dedication.

The programme was chaired by Er. Imchen Ao, Principal, Women Industrial Training Institute (WITI) Dimapur, and vote of thanks was delivered by Gideon L. Sumi, District Employment Officer, Dimapur. Invocation was pronounced by Kahoto K. Zhimomi, TA, DEE, Dimapur.
