Former National People’s Party (NPP) candidate, Veprasa Nyekha has recently resigned from the party and has formally joined the Naga People’s Front (NPF).
According to an update from the NPF Party of the 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency (AC), Nyekha, along with his supporters, joined the NPF in Kohima in the presence of MLA of 18th Chozuba AC and Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, along with party rank and file from the central office bearers (COB), Division, and assembly constituency levels.
A programme in this regard was stated to have been held on April 13, which officially welcomed him into the party fold.
Welcoming the move, Advisor Khamo acknowledged and appreciated the decision of the NPP from 18th Chozuba AC, led by former candidate Veprasa Nyekha, a retired District and Sessions Judge, along with GBs and village council members, to extend their support to his leadership and that of Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, president of the NPF, for the greater interest of the constituency in particular and the state in general.
Khamo said, “I, along with the entire party rank and file, heartily welcome each and everyone into the Naga People’s Front (NPF) family.”
He stated that the move is not merely a political transition but a coming together to strengthen the regional party, reflecting shared vision and values, and upholding the aspirations of the Nagas for peace, unity, and progress.

Furthermore, Khamo asserted that the NPF welcomes all like-minded individuals to join hands and work together for the welfare and development of the state.
Meanwhile, President of NPF 18th Chozuba AC, Vevohu Epao, also welcomed Nyekha and his supporters into the party fold, adding that they would work collectively for the interest of the grassroots and the Naga people at large.
He said the constituency is known for its strong patronage of the regional party and expressed confidence that the people will continue to remain committed to serving the community together.
