Former President of the Seyochung Village Students’ Union, Longtili C Sangtam donated medicines to the Primary Health Centre Seyochung HQ and St Mary High School on May 9.
During an interaction at PHC Seyochung HQ, the Medical Officer thanked Longtili C Sangtam for the timely donation of medicines, stating that the health centre often faces shortages despite support from the Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire.
The Medical Officer said that the staff continues to work hard and serve the people despite many challenges.
During the interaction, Longtili C Sangtam appreciated the efforts of the health workers and expressed concern over the challenges. He stated that serving in rural place is not easy, but he was encouraged by the dedication shown by the staff.
He also called for greater community participation in strengthening the health sector, saying that the growth of hospital is a shared responsibility and everyone should come forward to support it. He added that when healthcare improves, society naturally progresses.

Longtili C Sangtam also visited St Mary High School, Seyochung HQ, where he donated medicines for the students.
During an interaction with the Headmaster, the school authorities highlighted several challenges faced by the institution, especially poor network connectivity in Seyochung HQ.
The Headmaster said that most school-related work is now carried out digitally, making it difficult for the school to function smoothly due to network problems.
In response, Longtili C Sangtam assured the school authorities that he would raise the issue with the concerned authorities.
The Headmaster thanked him for the support and expressed hope for future collaboration for the welfare and growth of the students.
Longtili C Sangtam also expressed gratitude to the teachers and school authorities for their continuous contribution towards education in the area.
He stated that education is the foundation of a progressive society and appreciated the efforts being made to build a strong future for the younger generation. He further assured his continued support for the school in the future.
