Free Screening of Children’s Films inaugurated in Phek

Phek: DC encourages children to take full advantage of film festival

Free Screening of Children’s Films was inaugurated by DC Phek, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS yesterday at Phek village of Phek district, DIPR informed. The film screening is being organised by District Administration Phek, in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation of India (NDFC).

The DC said the program was sanctioned by the Government of India by the initiation of Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Dr L Murugan who visited Phek District of Nagaland on 21 April 2023. He also encouraged the children to take full advantage of the festival.

The union minster, during his visit, announced that a grant of Rs 14.99 lakh has been allocated to Phek district for exhibition of children’s films in the district.

The programme was chaired by SDO (c) Phek Hq. Tsenthungo E Ngullie. Village Council Phek, Chivozo Soho delivered welcome address. About sixty children assembled and viewed the films.

The free screening of Children’s Films in 39 selected villages across Phek District began on 14 June 2023 and will continue till July 2023.
