As part of its ongoing commitment to community outreach and social responsibility, the Department of History, MGM College, undertook a visit to Prodigals’ Home on April 10, 2025. The visit was a key initiative under the department’s Community Extension Programme, informed a press release by the college.

Prodigals’ Home, a pioneering organization, has grown into a multifaceted institution working across various sectors including health, social empowerment, economic development, rural livelihood, disability support, and policy advocacy.

The event began with a word of affirmation by Fuchumo Yanthan, Head of the Department of History, who expressed deep appreciation for the work being done by the organisation and encouraged the students to develop a heart for community service.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Rangwamzoing, who acknowledged the efforts of both the Prodigals’ Home team and the visiting department. This visit not only enriched the students’ understanding of societal challenges but also reinforced the values of empathy, service, and compassion—core tenets that MGM College seeks to instill in its academic and community engagements, stated the press release.
