A futsal arena at the Yhoshü Resource Centre (YRC) in Kigwema, above Pony Farm was officially opened on 14 April, 2025. The newly constructed 66×106 feet arena was inaugurated by Senior Vice President & Whole Time Director of Apraava Energy’s Haryana-based Jhajjar Power Limited, Bhaskar Bhattacharjee.
The Yhoshü Resource Centre, Kigwema is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Apraava Energy, India’s leading corporation in the energy sector.
Speaking at the occasion, Bhattacharjee expressed his delight to be engaging with the local community in Nagaland. He explained that Apraava Energy has a broad vision of giving back to the society by engaging with communities on a long-term basis. He lauded the Yhoshü clan of Kigwema for rising to the occasion and taking up a project with a focus on empowering the youth. Expressing appreciation that the ongoing development of the resource centre would be helpful and beneficial for the youth of the area.
Visato Yhoshü, YRC Committee Convenor said the community has for many years relied on the goodwill of small government schemes and the limited resources of its own leaders to meet some of their common needs.
“We have done what we could with what little we had, but we have also long-felt a growing desire for something that would not just respond to our present, but build a foundation for our future. Something that could help us become self-reliant, enterprising, and united as a community,” he explained.
He maintained that the YRC project is a bold step in that direction as it is envisioned to serve as a place for learning, livelihood, sports, community gathering and growth.
He said the remarkable transformation is being made possible through the generous and visionary support of Apraava Energy through the Tuensang-based Eleutheros Christian Society founder Rev. Dr. Chingmak Chang for bridging the gap and supporting the project. “It is the spirit of community, collaboration, and generosity that has made our vision a reality,” Yhoshü added.
