The GMS Leinak, Longleng organised a Cultural Tour & Pottery Workshop in collaboration with Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR) at Pongo village in Longleng on the theme ‘Reawakening Cultural Legacy’ for the students of Classes 6 to 8, on March 15 with Ali Phom of Pongo Village as the resource person.

According to DIPR, the event was funded from the 4th Instalment of the Performance Incentive Grant of NECTAR Project for the Extra-Curricular Activities & Innovations.

During the tour the students experienced hands on training of pottery making, visited morungs and were taught about the significance of morungs and its culture. Later, they were also taught about beating of log drums.

Altogether 37 students and 10 teachers participated in the Cultural Tour & Workshop.
