GoN and Nagaland University sign MoU to launch CoEFL

Kohima: CoEFL to offer language programs encompassing Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German and Arabic among others

The Government of Nagaland and Nagaland University, facilitated by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the Centre of Excellence for Foreign Languages (CoEFL) in Nagaland on 5th December 2023, DIPR stated.

The primary objective of CoEFL is to promote foreign language learning. CoEFL will offer comprehensive language programs encompassing Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German and Arabic among others. The curriculum will also cover culture, work ethics, business practices and life skills.

According to DIPR, the plan of action entails the establishment of CoEFL, providing a 3-month certificate course for the first year and subsequently CoEFL will apply for accreditation from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to incorporate degree courses as a formal field of study with extended PhD facilities.
