Goodwill School hosts 1st Literary cum Cultural events competition

Goodwill School, Mon proudly held its first-ever Literary and Cultural Events Competition on October 8, 2024, within the school premises. The program was organised in two distinct sessions; a literary competition followed by a cultural showcase.

The event commenced with an invocation by Nahtei Konyak, the Headmaster, after which Amoi took the chair to lead the proceedings. The festivities opened with a charming song performance by the Class 2 students, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Phoya.


The first session featured an array of literary competitions that included a quiz, poem recitation, solo singing,  and group dance performances, and a fancy dress contest, reflecting the diverse talents of the students. The judges for the literary competition and cultural dress competition were Wangchat Konyak, Kaiba W, Nahtei Konyak and Pushpa.

After an engaging start, the second session commenced with an insightful speech by Kingchai, the Director of the school, emphasising the significance of culture in education and community life. This was followed by the cultural competition, where students proudly showcased traditional attire representing various cultures and heritage. Additionally, a demonstration of bamboo craft making was showcase to the students, highlighting the importance of preserving traditional arts.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Monyu K, expressing gratitude to all participants and attendees. The day was wrapped up with a mass prayer, uniting everyone in a moment of reflection and thanks.

The successful event not only celebrated the students’ literary and artistic talents but also reinforced the value of cultural heritage in enriching the educational experience.
