Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, graced the Inclusive India, Magic Show for Social Inclusion of People with Disabilities which was held at Bishop Abraham Memorial Hall Peace Centre, Chumoukedima, on 2nd November 2024.
Speaking at the programme, Nagaland Governor, La Ganesan extended his gratitude to the Different Art Centre, Kerala along with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, for pioneering this transformative campaign—one that echoes the profound importance of an inclusive society.
Today, as we gather for this noble cause, we are part of a larger vision—a mission to light the lamps of inclusivity and equality across this great nation of ours. We are committed to ensuring that every citizen, irrespective of their abilities, finds equal opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to our society, the Governor said.
He added that this campaign of the Different Art Centre Kerala, under the inspiring leadership of Gopinath Muthukad, an extraordinary magician and visionary, powerfully communicates the essence of social inclusion through the mesmerizing language of magic and that for some years now, he has brilliantly harnessed this art to weave narratives of national integration, communal harmony, and peace. And now, he brings to us the vital message of inclusivity for persons with disabilities. Inclusion is not merely an act of kindness; it is a fulfilment of our duty as a society to respect individual dignity and empower every person to reach their fullest potential. In our collective journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, these magical performances remind us of an imperative truth- an inclusive society is an enriched society, the Governor stated while thanking the Different Art Centre for including Nagaland in their itinerary.
As we partake in this just cause, let us reaffirm our commitment to uphold the values of equality, accessibility, and empower those with disabilities to witness their hopes and dreams realized. Let us strive to be a society where opportunities transcend barriers, where diversity in ability is celebrated and valued, he added.
The Governor urged to forge ahead to create a society filled with compassion and our future guided by inclusivity. He hoped that this magical journey inspires us to ignite the spirit of unity and commitment in our hearts, as we endeavour to build an inclusive India for all its citizens.
