Governor of Nagaland, Nand Kishore Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic landslide in Mon district that claimed precious lives and caused extensive damage to property and infrastructure.

The Governor conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.

The Governor appreciated the dedicated efforts of the District Administration, NSDMA, SDRF, Nagaland Police, Assam Rifles, medical personnel, and all agencies engaged in the ongoing rescue and relief operations. He appealed to the people to remain vigilant and follow official advisories.

The Governor said his thoughts and prayers are with the people of Mon and all those affected by the ongoing adverse weather across the State.

Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton has expressed deep sorrow over the natural disasters in Mon, Mokokchung, and other parts of Nagaland, which have caused tragic loss of life and widespread damage.

Patton extended his heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in these unfortunate incidents. He stated that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, is closely monitoring the situation across the affected regions to ensure timely intervention and support.

Stating that various government agencies, security forces, and local communities are currently working on the ground to conduct search and rescue operations, Patton assured that the government will extend immediate ex gratia assistance to the families of the deceased and provide relief to those affected.

Meanwhile, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has also expressed profound grief over the loss of lives and widespread damage caused by flash floods and landslides across Nagaland following incessant rainfall.

It conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved families, especially in Mon district where lives were lost, and to those reported missing or trapped. The NPF also expressed solidarity with hundreds of families in Tuli, Mokokchung district, where homes, schools, churches, health facilities and public infrastructure have suffered extensive damage.

The NPF further appreciated the District Administrations, NSDMA, SDRF, Police, Fire & Emergency Services, medical personnel, churches, civil society organizations and volunteers for their tireless rescue and relief efforts.

It appealed to the public to follow advisories from district authorities, avoid flood- and landslide-prone areas, and cooperate with rescue teams.
