Referring to the Constitution, he said its principles of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity formed the foundation of the country’s democratic system, while the right to vote remained one of the most powerful instruments through which citizens could shape the nation’s future.

The Governor said voting was not merely a choice made during elections but a responsibility towards society and a commitment to democracy. He particularly urged first-time voters to familiarise themselves with the electoral process and make informed decisions based on facts, knowledge and democratic values.
