In pursuance of the decision taken during the departmental meeting held on May 14, 2026, the Department of Health & Family Welfare issued an order stating that all Medical Officers and other medical personnel under Health & Family Welfare Department shall strictly adhere to the prescribed procedure for availing leave. No officer would leave the station without obtaining prior sanction of leave from the competent authority.
Further, Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and Medical Superintendents proceeding on leave should, in addition to obtaining the requisite leave sanction, inform the Deputy Commissioner of the respective district before leaving their station. Proper leave records shall be maintained at the level of the Leave Sanctioning Authority.

Any violation of the above instructions would be viewed seriously and dealt with in accordance with applicable Government regulations, the order stated.
