Heavy rain damages homes, roads and paddy fields in Noklak

Following the recent torrential rains in Nagaland, lives, homes, infrastructures and fields has been affected in various parts of  Nagaland.

In Noklak town, five households has been affected where the heavy rains caused severe damage on their kutcha houses and retaining walls.

Paddy fields from Choklangan village are also reported to have been destroyed by the heavy mudslide triggered by the excessive rainfall. Eight families has been affected so far, at the time of filing of this report.

Further, major roads connecting seven villages between Noklak – Pathso were reported to have  completely washed away , road between Noklak – Tuensang, and Noklak – Nokhu road blocked due to giant mudslide causing problems for travellers.

Actions have been taken by the  District Disaster Management Authorities providing SDRF application and road clearance by DDMS , PWD (R&B) & concerned contractors.
