The 4th edition of the Hezukhu memorial trophy kicked off on November 21 at the District Sports Council ground Zunheboto with Advisor for Food & Civil Supplies and Legal Metrology, K. Tokugha Sukhalu, as the special guest. The trophy is being organized by Zunheboto district football association, informed the DIPR.
The advisor in his speech advised the players to have a commitment in sports along with good academic records if one wants to become a professional in the future. In order to be a professional player one must also be disciplined and maintain a proper diet, asserted Sukhalu. Expressing regret on the increasing rate of school dropouts and unemployment amongst the youths , Sukhalu encouraged them to also focus on skill development and entrepreneurship.
Highlighting the spread and use of abusive substances and alcohol in the district, Sukhalu advised the youths to abstain from those habits if one wants to become a sports professionals. He further requested the GBs and elders especially the land owners present to work together if they want development to come to the district, and for the future of their children as these days developments are being hampered because of land compensation issues.

Earlier the programme was chaired by Tavin, and invocation prayer pronounced by Nupato Zhimo. The welcome note was delivered by Inoka Yeptho, President ZDFC, special song by Ghokivi Awomi, and short speech by Kiyeka S. Sumi, Vice President NFA and member AIFF Grass root development. This was followed by oath taking where the Special Guest declared the tournament open.
Altogether, nine teams will be competing in the tournament which is scheduled from November 21 to 27
