The Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland on Wednesday clarified that the prohibition on sale/manufacture, processing, packaging, storage, transportation, distribution or sale of all food products containing tobacco and/or nicotine as ingredients would be enforced from June 2, 2026 for a period of one year till June 1, 2027.
The Department said that prohibition extends to food products containing tobacco and/or nicotine as ingredients.
The Food Safety Officials have been directed to ensure the implementation of the prohibition under their respective jurisdiction in co-ordination with the District Administration and Police.
