The closing ceremony of the ten-day Hindi Certificate Course, organized under the program ‘Hindi Bhasha Sanchetna Shivir,’ was successfully observed on 31st August 2024. This event was a joint initiative by the Department of Hindi, Kohima Campus, Nagaland University, and the Central Hindi Institute, Agra.
This course has not only strengthened the participants’ grasp of Hindi but also highlighted the cultural and educational significance of the language in the region, the PRO, NU stated in a press release.
Thavaseelan K, IAS, Principal Director of School Education, Project Director of NECTAR and CEO of State Health Authority, Government of Nagaland attended the event as the Special Guest. He congratulated all those associated with the course and spoke on the importance of Hindi in contemporary education.
Prof. G. T. Thong, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Kohima Campus, extended his greetings to the guests and shared his perspectives on the role of the Hindi language in Naga society. The event was attended by Heads of Departments, faculty members, scholars, and students from various departments.
Dr. Brijesh Kumar, the Convenor of this course and Assistant Professor in the Hindi Department at Nagaland University, shared that the course focused on the basic structure of the Hindi language. The program saw the participation of over 60 students who were eager to enhance their understanding of Hindi.
Throughout the course, Dr. Thunbui, Assistant Professor at the Central Hindi Institute, Dimapur Centre, and Lidiya, Visiting Assistant Professor, led the classes, imparting valuable knowledge and skills to the participants.
The valedictory program also featured an insightful speech by Prof. Mithilesh Kumar Sinha, In-Charge Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, who discussed the promotion of the Hindi language in the North-East region.
