The 33rd District Level Hindi Diwas, Peren Unit was held at Government High School, Mhainamtsi, on September 12 with Headmistress of Government High School, Mhainamtsi, Ingaulule Liegise, as the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, Ingaulule Liegise said, “Teaching Hindi is definitely connecting the small corners of Nagaland.” She highlighted the importance of the Hindi language even in Nagaland and lauded the efforts of Hindi teachers in the district for bringing about a mindset shift among the student community towards the importance of learning Hindi.

Speaking on the significance of the language, she stated that Hindi language is a rich language, which was originated from the Devanagari script and passed by the Constituent Assembly in 1949 as an official language. And therefore, it is our duty to learn as well, she added.

The programme witnessed the participation of hundreds of Hindi teachers from across the district. Retired Hindi teachers were also invited to the occasion and honoured.  Various competitions, such as dictation and essay writing, were conducted separately for lower and higher classes. The celebration was a grand success.
