Hokato Hotozhe Sema wins Bronze at the Asian Para Games 2023

In a significant achievement for Nagaland, Hokato Hotozhe Sema on Wednesday won the Bronze medal in the Men’s Shotput F-56/57 category(13.94) at the ongoing Asian Para Games, Hangzhou.

Congratulating Sema on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “India is proud of his incredible spirit and strength. May his journey ahead be adorned with more glorious victories.”

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also took to X to laud Sema on his victory, tweeting, “Congratulations! Hokato Hotozhe Sema on your outstanding performance and winning Bronze Medal in Shotput F-56/57 category event in #AsianParaGames. A proud moment for India and historic for Nagaland. Thank you for making us proud. I hope you bring more laurels for the country.”

The Nagaland Disability Commissioner too congratulated Hokato Hotozhe Sema on his incredible achievement. “You are an embodiment of the human spirit’s limitless potential, a shining example of what can be achieved through steadfast commitment to your passion. We couldn’t be prouder of your remarkable success!” tweeted the Nagaland Disability Commissioner on X.

The Asian para Games 2023, also known as Para Asiad is held every four years after every Asian Games for athletes with disabilities. Currently being held at Hangzhou, China from October 22 to 28, India’s medal tally stands at 64 medals – 15 gold, 20 silver and 29 bronze earning a sixth spot.
