ICFAI University students visit Nagaland University Library

A faculty member and nine students from the Department of Library and Information Science, ICFAI University, Nagaland visited the  SASRD Library at Nagaland University’s Medziphema campus on Thursday as part of their academic field study.

The field visit was aimed at giving the students a practical exposure to modern library systems, services and management practices. During the visit, the students visited different sections of the library such as reference, circulation, automation and digital resources.

They were introduced to some of the major areas of library operations like Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), cataloguing, classification and the use of library automation tools. Students also got the opportunity to meet and interact with library professionals and gained insights about the daily functioning and the challenges of running an academic library.

The visit served as a valuable learning experience and helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
