Lanusunep of Khensa village, presently residing at Yimyu Ward in Mokokchung, is the son of Rev P Longri. He works as an accountant in the Treasuries and Accounts Department, while his wife serves as a teacher in a Government school. The couple is blessed with four daughters — the eldest pursuing B.Sc Agriculture, the second studying in PU, the third in Class IX, and the youngest in Class VII.
In a conversation with Nagaland Tribune, Lanusunep shared the inspiring story behind his initiative of opening a free guest house at 4th Mile, near Referral Hospital, Dimapur, dedicated to serving needy patients and their families.
He explained that the idea came from his deep concern for those who travel long distances from villages and towns to Dimapur for treatment and often struggle without relatives, resources, or a place to stay. “The sole goal of this initiative is to lend a helping hand to someone really in need,” he said.
Giving details of the services offered, Lanusunep informed that the guest house is completely free of cost. It has two rest rooms, one kitchen, and an attached bathroom. Basic kitchen requirements such as a stove and cylinder are also provided, though users will need to refill the cylinder if it runs out. The facility can be used for a short emergency stay or for a maximum of one month, depending on the patient’s condition and needs.

He further assured: “Patients undergoing treatment in Referral Hospital, especially those coming from far-off villages or towns who have no resources or relatives to stay with, are welcome at the guest house. It is completely free of cost for those who are really in need of help.”
Alongside providing shelter, Lanusunep wants his initiative to inspire a larger message of compassion. He strongly encouraged Naga citizens to be more empathetic and united in spirit.
“Let’s be humane by trying to understand each other’s struggles, respecting one another. Let’s treat everyone with kindness, for humanity is stronger when we unite. We should lift others by offering support instead of judgment,” he urged.
Expressing humility, he added: “May this small deed be acceptable in His sight, and may our Mighty Lord lead us.”
