Incessant heavy rains caused flash floods and landslides in many areas in and around Mangkolemba, Mokokchung on 10 August 2022. The damage has left the town completely cut off.

At Hokiyong ward, 12 houses were damaged by landslides. It has also been reported that the road between Khar village and Mangkolemba has been blocked due to debris and rocks and there are road blockages at many locations connecting Mangkolemba town and Japu village. Incessant flooding is also reported at Japu village which has caused severe damage to paddy fields.
