India wins 5 medals on Day-6 of Paralympics

Paris: India’s medal tally on Day-6 totals to 20 with three golds, seven silver and ten bronze

On Day-6 of the Paris Paralympic Games 2024, the Indian para athletes clinched a total of 5 medals including two silver and three bronze. India’s total tally is now 20 medals with three gold, seven silver and ten bronze, placing itself in the 19th position.

Sharad Kumar, the two time gold medalist in the Asian ParaGames, with a remarkable performance clinched the Silver Medal in the category of Men’s High Jump T63.

Sundar Singh Gurjar, a gold medalist at the 2017 World Para Championship won the bronze medal in the Men’s Javelin Throw F46 category.

Ajeet Singh, the 2023 gold medalist of World Championship also clinched the Silver Medal in the category of Men’s Javelin Throw F46 event.

Deepti Jeevanji, 21 years old secured the Bronze Medal in the category of Women’s 400m T20. It is to be noted that she has previously set a world record of 55.06s in the 2024 World Championships and another record in the Asian Para Games.

Maritappan Thangavelu, 2016 Paralympic gold medalist also clinched the bronze medal in the category of men’s high jump T63 final. It is to be noted that he has won three consecutive editions of the Paralympics.
