The Indian Army recently felicitated outstanding young achievers of Bishnupur in Manipur whose achievements stand as a beacon of inspiration for the youth in challenging circumstances. Through the event, the Army acknowledged the feats of the youth and demonstrated its commitment to always foster young talent in various fields.
The programme was attended by Lourenbam Bikram, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, and S Ravi Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police Bishnupur along with senior Army officers.
Those honoured included six bright students from the Manipur Super-50 classes who successfully cleared the JEE Mains Examination 2024 and four Wushu players who achieved accolades at the state and national levels.

The event commenced with the acknowledgment of efforts of the students, teachers and their families by the Red Shield Centre for Wellness and Excellence, popularly known as Manipur Super-50 classes. Six students namely Sahid Ali, Oinam Ronenson Singh, Roshan Kumar Gupta, Honghsha Shelpungman, Ronaldo Yumnam and Sashikanta Singh who under the mentorship of the Army and NEIDO, cleared the 2024 JEE Mains in their first attempt.
Wushu players Tamphasana Devi, N Bidiyasagarh Singh, Koijam Yaisana Devi, and A Gracy Devi, medalists in various prestigious competitions including Khelo India, East Zone, North East Games, and Sub-Junior National Championships, were recognized for their remarkable contributions to the sport and were honoured for their outstanding achievements.
Additionally, Master Thomas Singh, a courageous young Wushu player from Thanga, who displayed remarkable resilience after overcoming an accident during the Wushu Championships in February 2024, was also acknowledged for his fighting spirit and determination. The felicitation ceremony underscored the Indian Army’s commitment to empowering and motivating the youth of Bishnupur.
