The Indian Army recovered war-like stores at Maphou Dam in Imphal East district, Manipur, the PRO, Ministry of Defence informed on Sunday.

The press release stated that the Indian Army came upon the weapons while acting on credible information about the presence of arms and ammunition in the area.

“…. Indian Army soldiers reacted swiftly and recovered one 5.56mm INSAS Rifle, two 12 Bore Guns, one 303 Rifle, Ammunition and other war-like stores,” it informed.

The PRO also said that the recovered stores have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal.
